Pushpa Gujral Science City celebrated its 17th annual day by organizing Inno-tech 2022 to promote innovation and creativity amongst the youth through development of working models in various fields of Science & Technology. More than 75 students from different Engineering and Polytechnic colleges of Punjab presented their innovative models through virtual mode. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Neelima Jerath, Director General, Science City said that development at any phase is always linked with technology, and technology happens when there is advancement in Science. Science & Technology makes daily life smooth, easy going and convenient. It also makes us intellectually sound and strong. She said that though the seeds of PGSC were sown in 1998, it was formally inaugurated on this day in 2005 as one of the three major interactive Science museums of the country. Since then, it has come a long way and won National Awards, taking science to the masses in Mission Mode through its various in-situ, ex-situ and on-line programs through its state-of-art facilities.
Dr. Vikas Handa, Professor, TIET Patiala delivered an expert talk at the occasion and shared inspiring success stories of the young innovators and motivated participants to adopt innovation as a way of life. He urged students to continually expand one's knowledge base and understand the things happening around and think over to make necessary changes in order to bring fruitful outcomes for the welfare of society.
