PGSC, in collaboration with NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, GoI has taken up a project "Women Empowerment through Genetic Literacy: An innovative intervention". The project aims at sensitizing people on genetic basis of sex determination in a child and creating awareness on genetic disorders and importance of prenatal screening. Genetic Literacy Clubs (each comprising of 15- 20 members) have been formed in villages and schools where interactive sessions-cum-workshops are organized to sensitise the masses on this issue. The member clubs are further involved in creating awareness on the issue by organizing activities/programs like interactive sessions, awareness camp, rallies, nukkar nataks etc.
