Pushpa Gujral Science City is celebrating International Biodiversity Day on May 22, 2020. The  theme for this year's event is “Our Solutions are in Nature”. The  main objective of organsing the  programme is to enrich the knowledge of the masses about biodiversity resources and their conservation. 

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, PGSC is organising  various online events as per following details

Guidelines for Participation: 

Photography  Contest:

Theme: Our solutions are in nature

• There is no limit to no. of entries per participant.
• Awards will be in two categories, i.e. above 15 years and below 15 years.
• The photograph should be relevant to the theme.
• Photograph submitted should be original.
• Caption is optional.
• Photographs may be clicked with a mobile/digital/any other camera
•  Photos must be in JPEG format.
• No hard copies may be submitted.
• Basic editing, including colour enhancement, use of filters, and cropping of the Photo is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo.
• Submitted photo must be original and taken by the contestant. Contestant has to attach a certificate along with the photograph that the submitted entry is his/her original work.
• The due credit would be given to Photographer wherever the image is used.
• PGSC reserves the right to accept/reject any/all  entry/ies.
•  All entries will be property of PGSC and it will have the right to use these in any way and  PGSC reserves exclusive  copy right of all entries.

Story Writing Competition,:

Theme: Our solutions are in nature

• Awards will be in two categories, i.e. above 15 years and below 15 years.
• There is no limit to number of entries per participant.
• The story can be in English / Hindi /Punjabi.
•  All stories should be submitted preferably in PDF format to ensure that there is no tampering with the text
• The story should be of minimum 300-500 words.
• Story must be typed, double-spaced and in a readable, 12 point font.
• Any plagiarized work will be disqualified. Participants will certify that the work is their original work
• PGSC reserves the right not to award prizes if, in the jury's opinion, such an action is justified
•  All entries will be property of PGSC and it will have the right to use these in any way.
• If found suitable, PGSC will publish an e-book of stories after the event. It will request  text of stories in word format from participants, whose stories are selected for inclusion in the e-book, to facilitate designing.
• PGSC reserves exclusive  copy right of all entries

The Prize distribution ceremony will be held at Science City campus after the lockdown is lifted  and PGSC is made open for public visitation and it’s  safe to travel for winners.  The date shall be intimated through e mail. PGSC will pay ordinary bus/train (Sleeper class) fare towards travel cost to winners, if demanded. No local travel will be payable.  Entry ticket to PGSC is free for all winners.
