Red Ribbon Express Bus and Red Ribbon youth clubs in colleges of Punjab for AIDS awareness
Pushpa Gujral Science City has been given a project by AIDS Control Society, Punjab to spread awareness about AIDS amongst youth. Under this project, a grant of Rs. 43.76 lacs has been received with details as under:
- Contribution of Punjab State AIDS Control Society Rs. 34.42 lakhs ( 78.66% of the total project cost)
- Contribution of Pushpa Gujral Science City Rs. 9.34 lakhs ( 21.34% of total project cost)
Under this programme, Red Ribbon Youth Clubs have been formed in various colleges of the State. The staff under this project visits the institutions and with the help of the club members undertakes various activities to spread awareness about AIDS and its control.
In the first phase a Red Ribbon Express Bus has been purchased and commissioned into service to cover all the colleges of the State.
