Science City is being develped as a place for-

	Vision Pushpa Gujral Science City shall be developed as an institution of excellence- a complex to hum with science activities all the year round and to generate and nurture creativity in young minds

1. Supplementing Education: to provide young people with the opportunity to explore informal ways of supplementing formal science education.
   
2. Widening knowledge: to offer everyone – children and adults, general public and students – the avenues to experience its well-equipped resource centres.
   
3. Displaying the national strength in the field of science and technology: demonstrating the developments in our national laboratories namely CSIR / DRDO/ ISRO/BARC/ICMR/ ICAR etc.
   
4. Demonstrating emerging technologies: such as nano-technology, micro-machines, levitation, genomics etc.
   
5. Demonstrating the industrial strength of Punjab: through models and visuals of various prominent industries.
   
6. Information: to disseminate information on the latest developments in science and technology.
   
7. Innovation: to provide opportunity to individuals to try out their ideas in the design and development of new products.
   
8. Adventure sports: such as rock climbing, aero-ballooning, boating etc.
   
9. Social progress: to act as career guidance centre built around its interactive software library and exhibits.
   
10. Edutainment: to learn through experience, fun and entertainment.

Objectives

1. To develop an interactive science learning centre through playful non-formal approach.
2. To present the marvels of science and technology for public appreciation and understanding with state-of-art gadgets and exhibits.
3. To supplement formal science education in the state of Punjab and other adjoining areas with special emphasis on rural schools.
4. To facilitate flow of information to educational institutions, government bodies, industries, entrepreneurs, budding scientists, agriculturists and the general public.
5. To create a scientific temper and awareness in the community and develop in them a logical thought process.
6. To bring Science close to people’s heart and make science their way of life
