Pushpa Gujral Science City Kapurthala organized 15th & 16th All Breed Dog show along with German Shepherd Mega Show on 29th January 2023 with an objective to bring awareness in the society about domesticated biodiversity with a focus on various breeds of dogs. Exhibitors from all over Punjab participated. Over 135 dogs comprising 40 breeds participated in the dog show. Owners of dogs from Punjab and other states exhibited their pets and their skills during the show.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director Science City said that dog is the only living being on earth that loves you more than you love yourself. Dogs make the best friends, and we celebrate them for all the joy and love they’ve given us. Over the years the dog has changed the role it has played for centuries and has had a significant impact on human lives. They perform many roles such as hunting, herding, pulling loads, protection, assisting police and the military, companionship and aiding disabled individuals. Dr. Munish Soin delivering the vote of thanks said that it was high time that we spread awareness among the masses about domesticated bio-diversity with a focus on salient features of various breeds of dogs.
Sh. Azim Farooqui from Pune, Sh. Kasim Ali Khan from Hyderabad and Sh. Adarsh Chhibber from Kotkapura were invited to Judge the show. The following were declared as the winners and awarded with cash prizes and trophies :
First best of Show Prize in Ring- 1 was bagged by the Dog Rocco, German Shepherd of Sh. Nav Nijjar from Jandiala Guru, while the Second best of Show prize went to Dog Xango of breed Rottweiler of Sh. Roopak from Jalandhar and Third best of Show prize was clinched by Dog Smoky of breed Labrador of Sh. Nitin from Patiala. First best of Show Prize in Ring – 2 was bagged by the Dog Rocco, German Shepherd of Sh. Nav Nijjar from Jandiala Guru, while the Second best of Show prize went to Dog Xango of breed Rottweiler of Sh. Roopak from Jalandhar and Third best of Show prize was clinched by Dog Vitto breed Rottweiler of Sh. Amit Kumar from Ambala.
